Our History
In the early months of 1998, the Lord laid upon the hearts of several families the desire to further His kingdom through the ministry of a new fellowship in south Denver. Under the leadership of Pastor Ken Murphy, these families began meeting together for prayer and planning, seeking the Lord’s direction for a new church. This planting activity had been a long term goal of Pastor Murphy and the sending church. In October of 1998, Southside Bible Church began meeting in a hotel conference room for worship and proclamation of the Word of God. Three months later the fellowship relocated to a more permanent location in Highlands Ranch. The church gathered for nearly seven years at Summit View Elementary School for Sunday morning services, and in homes around the community for mid-week Bible studies.
The church moved to a permanent building in November, 2005 which the Lord has so graciously provided to the congregation.
Ministries of the church have been developed in a measured way, beginning with foundational ministries in teaching and then have expanded to encompass fellowship, prison, nursing home, children, international ministry, and other areas of service.
We have had on-going support to overseas mission activities over the years and were led in 2004 to engage more directly in the Caribbean. We are working with churches on the islands of Anguilla, Trinidad & Tobago, and St. Lucia. God is opening doors in this region and we are walking through them as He so leads us.
We also join hands with other like minded ministries in one time and on-going ministry efforts.
In 2011 we began to work towards establishing a more comprehensive ministry that would expand our efforts working with other churches in the realm of teaching, evangelism, community outreach, and humanitarian work.
This came to fruition at the beginning of 2012 as we initiated Entrusted Word Ministries (entrustedword.org). We will see how this ministry is used by the Lord across the nation and around the world.
The church has continued to grow spiritually and numerically during this time. We wait on what the Lord has for us in the coming years.
Welcome
