Music Ministries
Music is an important element in our worship of God and edification of the saints. It can be abused in an effort to "accommodate" our culture, yet God also uses the growth and changes in music across time and culture to enrich the lives of the saints.
Our music is gospel oriented and is just one component of our worship.
At Southside, we have a high view of music in our worship. We pay special attention to what we sing, how it fits in with the overall worship service, and that it is both profitable and edifying to the congregation, but especially honoring to God. Music is for worship and edification, not entertainment.
There are numerous opportunities to participate in the music ministry at the church. These include:
- instruments and voice during our worship service,
- opportunities with our nursing home and prison ministries,
- special music, and
- seasonal choirs (adult and children), just to name a few.
